questions?
Is the piece that I purchase shown in the online store the actual piece I will receive?
Simple answer, no, not normally. The items pictured in the online store are pieces I've designed and made over the years and have added the design to my online store that you can purchase, but your piece will be custom made for you when it is ordered. That means each piece is one of a kind and your piece will be made to be very similar in sizing, color, and coral selection.
How long does it take for Melanie to fulfill my order?
Most orders are shipped within 2-3 weeks of ordering. During the busiest times of the year for me (Nov - March), the order may take longer and when I anticipate this due to a booked show schedule, etc., I will email or call you. If you need the artwork within a certain time frame, please write me a note in the order or email me to let me know you need it sooner or by a certain date.
Can I request custom designs? Color? Coral mounting?
Absolutely! I offer custom glass designs, colors, and coral selections to bring your unique vision to life. Whether you have a specific piece in mind, even if it's not of a sea life theme or nautical in nature, or want a certain type of coral that reflects your individual preferences, feel free to ask! I enjoy challenging my self with new glass designs and quite often if it's something I find that I like, I'll add it to my library of artwork.
What happens if my piece breaks in shipping?
With many years experience in wrapping and packaging my artwork, I pride myself in knowing how to package my pieces so they make it to you safely. I send all sculpture through UPS. Jewlery is sent USPS. If any item is broken during shipping when it is received, please take pics immediately of the breakage and document it. Send me the pictures and save the original packaging. This helps in filing a claim with UPS for the sculpture, and I will either remake it or repair the piece so as if it were not broken. It's unusual that jewelry is broken during shipping, but if it is, I will replace it free of charge with documented pictures. Also, make sure you email me at info@melaniecechglass.com with your pictures of the breakage, the box with packaging, your info and anyting that will be relevant to the claim for UPS.
